Applying for admission to a primary school If you have a child who was born between 1 April 2015 and 1 April 2017, you must apply for a school place for April 2021. Even if you do not want your child to start full time schooling until reaching statutory school age in the term following their fifth birthday you should apply now and defer admission.

You can apply from 1 March 2021 and must get your application to us by 01 April 2021. You must get your application to us on time to maximize your chances of being offered one of your preferred schools. If you miss the closing date Applications received after the closing date will be considered after those that are received on time and after the first round of offers have been made. Schools are oversubscribed, so it's important that you consider as many schools as possible when thinking about which schools to apply for.

Our advice is that you should not base your decisions solely on reputation or what other people say about a school or schools. We recommend that you make up your own mind.

Schools are usually happy to welcome visitors by arrangement – we will show you around and answer questions.
